Services

At Find Your Space Play Therapy, we offer a range of services designed to support the emotional and developmental needs of children. Our core approach, play therapy, uses play as a powerful tool to help children express their feelings, understand behaviours, and develop emotional regulation skills.

Through creative activities like art, games, and role-playing, children can communicate in ways that words alone may not allow, helping them process complex emotions in a safe and supportive environment.

In addition to play therapy, we offer parent consultations, paediatric occupational therapy, training and workshops to provide a holistic approach to supporting both children and families. Whether you're looking for guidance on your child's development, strategies to support emotional regulation, or practical tools for nurturing emotional growth and resilience, we're here to help you and your child thrive.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is a therapeutic approach primarily used to help children express their emotions, understand their experiences, and develop an awareness of themselves, their unique needs, and their emotional regulation preferences through play. Children, especially younger ones, often lack the verbal skills to communicate complex feelings and experiences. Play, a natural form of communication for children, allows therapists to observe and engage with them in a safe, comfortable environment. Through structured play, children learn to express themselves, understand their emotions, and develop resilience.

This intervention uses play and creativity to help children express themselves. It is particularly effective for children aged 4-12, who often find it challenging to articulate their feelings. Play offers them a way to communicate during sessions, making it a valuable alternative to traditional talk therapy. The approach engages children on their own terms, using play as a medium to address and overcome various challenges.

Play therapy operates on the principle that play is the language of children. In a therapeutic setting, children use toys, games, and activities to communicate feelings they cannot easily articulate. The therapist creates a safe, non-judgmental space where the child is free to explore, express, and process their emotions.

Occupational Therapy

At Find Your Space Play Therapy, we offer paediatric occupational therapy led by Eimear McEneaney, an experienced therapist with years of helping children reach their full potential. Eimear has worked across a variety of settings, including physical rehabilitation, residential care, and mental health services, providing a comprehensive and well-rounded approach to therapy.

We specialise in supporting children with a range of challenges such as developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, and sensory processing difficulties. Our therapy sessions focus on improving fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-regulation to help children develop independence in everyday activities like dressing, eating, and engaging in school or play.

At Find Your Space, we take a child-centred and collaborative approach, ensuring that therapy is both engaging and tailored to each child’s individual needs. We design personalised interventions that incorporate fun and purposeful activities like motor exercises, sensory integration, and life skills training. These strategies are aimed at improving coordination, focus, and sensory regulation, helping children feel more confident and competent in their daily lives.

Our goal is to empower children to overcome barriers to participation in school, play, and social activities. Whether it's supporting handwriting development, managing sensory sensitivities, or improving daily routines, our therapy provides practical tools and strategies for growth. We work closely with families to ensure that therapy aligns with each child’s specific needs, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where children can progress at their own pace.

With a commitment to ongoing professional development, Eimear stays up-to-date with the latest therapeutic approaches to ensure the highest quality care. Each therapy session is designed with patience, empathy, and expertise to support every child in achieving their fullest potential.
